I see you eyeing the oils. We all do it. And believe me, I wasn’t “sure” when I grabbed mine. After six years, I’m SURE now! (I was sure when I opened that first box and inhaled!)
But, I did know that we’re never truly “ready” for anything we choose on the front end. We’re never “sure”. When we choose anything, we become ready once we choose; once we start.
Today, Young Living made that start easier than ever with their addition of a diffuser to the already awesome Welcome Home Starter Kit. (Click to grab yours)
From June 24th – June 20th @ 11:59pm the Welcome Home Starter Kit includes the Dew Drop Diffuser AND a 15ml bottle of Citronella! Can we say #byemosquisha ?

As I was shopping yesterday in a local health food store, I saw two women looking over the three different brands of “essential oils” offered.
I wanted to walk right up to them and tell them the truth about those bottles and all we’ve learned in the last four years about oils, our bodies, government regulations, wellness, and more. The oils offered are directly behind the front desk and I didn’t feel it would go over well if I began to sell something to someone in another person’s retail space. I wish I could have caught them in the parking lot.
While it may seem impossible, I find that there are still so many people who have nobody they trust trying to educate them and help them with natural wellness. With so many people trying to sell anything these days, how can we know what is right for us individually? How will we know what to do?
There have been a lot of these types of questions over the last four years, and naturally, some more than others.
In today’s VLOG, I’ll go over the 6 most common questions I am asked.

One thing that I value is a home that is inviting to guests.
Everything from clean sheets and towels, to pleasant, relaxing aromas, and good food.
This Lavender Linen Spray is a favorite of mine.
(I’ve also made it with other essential oils when I want a more seasonal scent such as Christmas with cinnamon and orange etc.) I use it to refresh guest beds, rugs, carpet in my car, towels, curtains, and furniture.

During my 5th pregnancy, it seemed like my saving grace every day was a long soak in the tub. I’d use Epsom salts to assist my legs with restlessness.
I had RLS with pregnancies #3 and #4 along with what seemed to be a pregnancy-induced carpal tunnel. Thankfully both times it was gone along with the belly, but it was a hard challenge. The magnesium in the Epsom salt bath was so life-giving for my body and especially my tired muscles.
We also use bath salts almost nightly for our 4-year-old daughter who suffers from autoimmune issues including severe eczema, and my husband loves to soak after hard workouts at Crossfit.
When I came across this recipe last week, I knew I needed to make it for my girls and myself.
RECIPE:
+1/2C Epsom Salt
+1/4C Pink Himalayan Salt
+1/8C Baking Soda
+5-10 drops each:
Lavender Essential Oil
Rose Essential Oil
Ylang Ylang Essential Oil

I don’t know about you, but we have five kids and that means a lot of feet.
And not just any feet…
Feet that love to forget the shoes, play in splash pads, jump on trampolines, jump into crocs, wear the same sweaty socks for way too long, etc.
I’ll never ever forget the year the oldest two both got athletes foot at the same time from a splash pad visit. * Insert all of the stressed-out mommy tears.
And then there is that one time that our five-year-old son came to us with a toenail issue so bad that two of his nails were seemingly grown into his skin. Poor little guy. It was winter. He loves socks. Who knew?
I’m a sucker for a good money-saving, useful DIY project and I don’t like feet so much that when I was younger my “friends” thought it was fun to chase me down and put their bare feet on me. Total gross me out!
That is why I love this foot spray! It’s easy, inexpensive, and empowering for my kids. They can spray their feet each morning and night. Done and done.
One thing I’ve learned about life as a mother is the preemptive strike.

We no longer live in a world where we can maintain health simply by doing nothing. We are surrounded by environmental pollutants and offered little more than “food-like product” in the aisles upon aisles of the boxed and bagged at our local grocery stores. So, when we began to learn about essential oils, the tip I kept coming across was “early and often“.
Rather than have a reactive mindset, I needed to have a proactive, simple, approach to wellness for my family. Enter “Roller Blends”
Roller blends make it easy for me to hand-select the support each of us needs and utilize them in our daily lifestyle.
The blend I’m sharing with you today is one that we love to use daily. It’s great to keep in my purse and it’s so easy, my kids can apply it on their own. We usually choose behind the ears, back of the neck, and up the spine. This puts the oils right at the center of our central nervous system.
RECIPE:
Thieves Blend – Hello amazing smell + Immune Support (Did you know that you can google Thieves experiments and find all kinds of great info – some even done by people just like us – to support the use of Thieves in your home and on your body?)
Lavender – When in doubt, put lavender on it. Look up all of the properties of Lavender Essential Oil. It is truly the “Army Knife of Oils”
Frankincense – You’ll find that “Frank“, as I affectionately refer to it, is in so many of my blends. This essential oil is ancient and supports our body at the cellular level. Since we know that our cells are the building blocks for our health, supporting them + their production is a no brainer.
Digize – Did you know that 70% of the immune system lives in the gut and moreover 80% of plasma cells? Taking care of our gut is something we’ve learned to do regularly and not just when there is trouble. Digize is a great blend designed to support the digestive system and gut. I’ve even found that diffusing at night has greatly impacted our bodies for the better.
Carrier Oil – Essential Oils are fat-soluble which means that when we apply them to our skin, they begin to look for fat. Some oils, such as cinnamon, mint oils, and seasoning oils can be “hot”. Think about that funny, albeit terrible, cinnamon test we see videos of. People trying to put a whole spoon of only cinnamon in their mouths.
– Essential Oils can be up to 10,000 times more concentrated than their herbal and whole-food counterparts. Additionally, some oils are lower viscosity than others making it easy for them to pass through the skin quickly. Carrier oils do not reduce the effectiveness of essential oils. They serve as a binder. The oils bind the fats in the vegetable oil ( coconut oil, olive oil, etc.) and enter our body slower, thus alleviating the sensation of “hot” oils.
It is also for this reason that if anyone should get essential oils into their eyes or use an oil that feels too “hot”, simply applying a carrier oil directly over the EO, will instantly relieve that sensation.
In June of 2017, my husband joined a Crossfit box and the sweat started.
And friends, I am SO proud of him. He has been so dedicated.
He lays out his stuff the night before.
He’s up, has his time, and heads to work out.
He even comes home and takes care of his smelly shoes and clothes right away.
One way he does that is with his own DIY gym spray:
After our 4th child was born with chronic skin issues, we began to learn how important it is to be aware of what is going onto our skin and into our bodies.
By the time our 5th baby was on the way, I had pretty well emptied out all of my personal care items in favor of cleaner ones and many of those were DIY items, including my toner, that I’d learned to make and infuse with my favorite essential oils.
The benefits of oils on the skin are amazing. In this recipe, I’m choosing Tea Treeto promote a healthy surface on my skin where it’s easy to collect bacteria and debris in our pores.
I’m also using Frankincense which is regarded for being excellent for whole-body health on the cellular level. When I’m thinking of glowing, healthy skin with an overall even tone, I’m thinking about frankincense. Anti-aging starts at the cellular level.
RECIPE:
+ Glass Jar with a tight light
+ Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar
+ Water (We have a whole house filter that removes fluoride, chlorine, and other toxins. If I were making some without that, I’d consider high PH water such as Fiji Water or Smart Water.)
+ Organic Cotton Rounds
HOW TO:
Mix ACV + Water + Oils
Apply lid and shake to evenly mix ingredients.
Add cotton rounds to jar slowly until full.
I use this on my face + on any areas of our skin that need a little extra attention.
